Have you ever said or thought one of these things?
I wish I could protect children.
I wish I could feed the hungry.
I wish everyone had a home.
I want to change the world, but I don’t know where to start.
If you have any sense of empathy at all, in this crazy world, I’m sure you’re thinking this way every single day!
Like you, I used to wonder what I could do to make a difference.
When I was a kid, I believed I could change the world and really wanted to, but then I got sucked up into real life and forgot all about that.
As I grew older, particularly after 9/11 and then after Alton Sterling’s murder in 2016, my desire to change the world returned with a vengeance.
I was unsure of what to do, but knew I had to do something.
I’ve spent the last 20 years writing, speaking, traveling, creating, sacrificing, and never feeling satisfied.
Today, I am here to tell you that I finally found the answer and it’s something we can all do together.
I combined my creative skills with my business skills and Attain 9 was born!
Attain 9, Inc. is both a production company and a social enterprise incubator.
Have you ever seen a great movie, one that informs and motivates you, disturbs you, gets you so hyped up that you’re consumed with what to do next?
Then the next show comes on or it’s time for dinner or a nap or whatever and that’s the end of that.
What if afterward, there was something you could really do to make a difference?
What if you could support groundbreaking change or make it yourself with serious resources?
Would you spend more time trying to solve the problem then?
Would you get your friends and colleagues together and start talking, planning, strategizing?
If you saw others doing the same, would you be thrilled to watch their journey and help out?
Of course, you would!!
That’s what Attain 9 is about.
It’s the first and only production company to create aspirational content that includes or is followed by opportunities to participate in and create social enterprise.
I chose the name carefully to reflect the fact that we’re not about chasing and following dreams but attaining them.
The number 9 is the number of universal love, service to humanity, leading by positive example, philanthropy and charity.
Is Attain 9 political?
Nope!
Attain 9 is party agnostic.
If you’re thinking the government is going to take care of our problems, just take a look around!
We believe in privatization of social change, a top-down approach where we, the people, are at the top.
Will Attain 9 help me get rich?
I hope so!
We believe in making money while doing good.
So, if you get rich by making the world a better place, then so be it.
True wealth will be in the passion from which it came.
